Franz Josef Glacier

Well yesterday I stumbled upon one of the few glaciers that lies within a subtropical rainforrest. It was quite spectacular and it was a full day hike so 8 hours of climbing. Probably about 5 on the glacier. The highlight was on the way down my mate Phil and I jumped into a glacier pool because why not, we're in NZ?

It rained a lot but that is very normal in the rain forest. It really can't be put into perspective until you actually climb a little ways up the glacier. It was mind blowing and I hope the pictures give some justice to what I saw.

Cheers,
